Knew it was going to have more S in it than W, which should have meant heading for the car park, but knowing that all the vans usually head for Cooden I went there first. High tide was about 10.30 and I arrived at about 11.30. The shore break was not very nice for the wind strenth (about 5.7m weather) and the direction was very onshore. Some vans disappeared, others were loitering but showing no signs of hitting the water. Got back in the car and headed off to the car park and met up with a few locals who were already rigged with 5m - which looked a bit optimistic. Rigged a 5.7m and wallowed out for the first run, but after that the wind steadily picked up and as the tide went down the waves picked up - there must have been something left from the gales the day before. Not brilliant for jumping, but some fun backside riding (for Pevensey!). Two hours of great sailing, particularly as it looked a bit iffy as I launched.
